Jack has been adopted! He met his new mama and her daughter today at my father's house in Somerville-Halfway in between my home and hers. She fell in love with Jack of course! She is an experienced dog owner who understands that there will be an adjustment period, and that Jack could use some training, especially on introductions. I am confident that she and Jack are going to be very happy together! I will miss this sweet sweet boy. I loved every minute that he was here!

Isn't he handsome! and he and Salty Dog are buddies now... Jack has been an absolute pleasure to foster, and I knew when he came that I shouldn't fall in love to hard for this boy cuz he'd be adopted in a flash. we are meeting his new mama on Sat.! I'm confident that he'll see in Jack the same things that I do, and give him the life that he deserves.

Great news for Jack! He has 2 applications- the one we have prioritized is an experienced Boston Terrier owner whose dog passed away a few months ago... naturally the house feels EMPTY without a smiling BT around. Her references were just great, and she's meeting him on Saturday. Yay for Jack! And hey, even if it doesn't go as well as I expect it will, the worst thing that can happen is that Jack stays with me a little longer. Trust me when I tell you that will not break my heart- we absolutely love having Jack here, and my young female Pixi

Jack and his new friends are ready for some football!

Jack. Friendliest dog I've ever met. I wanted to show him doing some of his favorite things- chewing hard bones, getting love, and rolling around on his back, making happy moaning noises. This boy is so goofy! He makes me laugh...he is energetic, but not obnoxiously so- he settles down quite nicely for a nap in between bursts of playfulness. I have to say that the only bad habits I've found so far have to do with his enthusiasm- he pulls a bit on a leash in an effort to sniff just as much as he possibly can, and he assumes that EVERYONE, with and without fur, wants to be his new best friend. He greats everyone he meets like a long lost best friend, and has the Boston Terrier lick-your-face thing going on. He also assumes that he's allowed on furniture- he is here, but it may be considered a bad habit if you are a "no dogs on the furniture" type.
To me, Jack has the typical big-boy Boston personality I love so much- happy, silly and sweet. We are getting such a kick out of him here!

I wanted to show how much Jack LOVES to play with other dogs- my young girl Pixie is in heaven! They chase each other, tumble around and play until they are worn out- she loves Jack. My grumpy old man, Salty Dog, not so much. Jack wants to play in the worst way and Salty Dog just glares at him, with a "leave me alone- I'm old" growl. Jack is entirely respectful and just looks a little hurt, then goes and finds his friend Pixie.....as far as his medical issue goes, he seems to be fully recovered. A prolapsed rectum in dogs is most often caused by a bad case of worms or chronic constipation-  we are hopeful that his surgery has fully corrected his problem, and like all of are dogs he was wormed, fully vetted, neutered and given all of his vaccines in rescue. He certainly appears healthy right now!

Jack arrived this morning! And what a sweet, smiley, snorty, happy-go-lucky fella he is.... I was told that Jack "has never met a stranger" and I can say that it's absolutely true- 28 pounds of love and friendliness. He gave everyone at the transport site a greeting with a kiss and has settled right in to his foster home. He had a bad case of nerves- running through the house sniffing absolutely everything-but calmed down nicely, has been running around the yard with my dogs, took a nap in his crate without making a sound, and is now happily playing with a bone. He seems to be house trained, and perfectly healthy- the surgery to repair his prolapsed rectum was complete successful and he has no issues at all with elimination. I love this boy already! I'll be updating his blog with pictures and more information, but expect that he'll be adopted very quickly!
